Microsoft’s Bing Search App Download Numbers Soar 10x in Anticipation of GPT Integration

Microsoft’s Bing Search App has jumped over 4000 places in global download rankings, according to

The app is currently number 3 on Apples iOS App Store’s Free App List.

Although official numbers are yet to be released, downloads are estimated to have increase more than 10x in the past few days, according to data analytics company The jump in downloads follows Microsoft announcing they’ll be incorporating OpenAI’s GPT-3 into Bing Search.

The new search tool will reportedly be built upon an even more advanced system than ChatGPT, built specifically for search.

     “A new, next-generation OpenAI large language model that is more powerful than ChatGPT and customized specifically for search. It takes key learnings and advancements from ChatGPT and GPT-3.5 – and it is even faster, more accurate and more capable.”

Microsoft recently announced a multi bullion dollar investment into OpenAI, the company behind the revolutionary GPT technology. 

The race between Microsoft & Google is well and truly underway. Google, who currently hold over 90% of the global search market, revealed their competitor product, Bard on Thursday, though it seems Microsoft are in the lead at the moment.
